03 / ARRIVE

Set up place alerts for arrivals and departures. Location permissions and notification settings affect how they work.

A SIMPLE START

Three steps.
A shared perspective.

Set up sharing together, before you rely on it.

  1. Bring your people in

Create a circle and share its invitation, or join a circle you have been invited to.

  2. Choose your permissions

Review the app’s location and notification settings. Background access may be needed for updates when the app is not open.

  3. Make the map useful

Explore shared locations and configure the places that matter to your group.

BEFORE YOU SET OUT

A few useful answers.

What can affect location updates?

Device permissions, internet access, battery settings and location availability can affect updates. A displayed location may be an earlier update.

Can I manage location sharing?

Review the sharing controls available in the app and your device’s location permissions. Revoking permission prevents new location access; it does not by itself erase previously uploaded records.

How do place alerts work?

Place alerts use location updates to identify arrivals or departures. Their timing depends on location accuracy, background access, connectivity and notification permissions.

Can I use this for emergency assistance?

PhoneLocator is intended for everyday coordination. Do not rely on location updates or place alerts as an emergency response service.
