01 Agreement and eligibility
These terms apply to access to PhoneLocator and its related features and services. Downloading, accessing or using the app signifies agreement to them. If you do not agree, discontinue use.
You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. Where your jurisdiction requires a higher age to enter a binding agreement independently, use requires the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
The app offers location sharing, circle-based communication, misplaced-device features and related tools. Use is restricted to lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes unless expressly permitted otherwise. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your use.
02 Permission comes before location sharing
Each person chooses whether and how to share their location and may pause or end sharing. Do not track, observe or monitor anyone without their knowledge and consent. Obtain the necessary permission before sharing another person's location.
Circles are private groups for family, friends and other trusted people. Members can view locations that fellow members share. Adding a person requires their knowledge and consent. Neither circles nor other location features may be used for stalking, harassment, intimidation, unlawful surveillance or misuse or misrepresentation of another person's location.
Location data must be used for its intended personal and family purposes. Misuse may lead to restricted or terminated access, and unlawful activity may be reported to the relevant authorities.
03 Understand the limits of a location update
A location may be approximate, incomplete or delayed. GPS reception, cellular and Wi-Fi availability, device position, permissions and other settings, battery status and network conditions can affect the result.
Do not make emergency, navigation or other safety-critical decisions solely from this app. It does not replace professional assistance or emergency services.
04 Materials you contribute
You may submit photos, images, text, preferences, selections or other materials. Rights to content you lawfully own remain yours. Submission grants only the rights needed to process, analyze, transmit, store and use the material to operate the relevant features.
You must have the rights and permissions necessary for everything you submit. Do not upload material that infringes intellectual property or privacy, is unlawful or fraudulent, includes malware or harmful code, is unlawfully abusive or exploitative, or otherwise violates the law or another person's rights.
05 Software ownership and permitted access
The software, interface, graphics, design, functionality, text and related materials are protected by intellectual property law. No ownership passes to you beyond rights expressly granted in these terms.
Without authorization, you may not copy or redistribute substantial parts, create modified or derivative versions, remove proprietary notices, bypass technical or security restrictions, or use the app to develop or train competing systems. Reverse engineering and source-code extraction are prohibited except where law permits them.
06 Paid access, trials and renewal
Some features may require a subscription or an in-app purchase. Review the displayed price, billing period, included features and any trial offer before purchasing. A purchase authorizes the applicable marketplace to charge the payment method on your account.
Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled within the marketplace's required timeframe. Where a trial is available, its duration and eligibility are displayed before confirmation. A trial may become a paid subscription at the displayed price if not canceled before it ends. Trials are not guaranteed for all users.
Manage or cancel a subscription through the marketplace account used for purchase. Removing the app, stopping use or termination of app access does not necessarily cancel billing. Refund requests follow the purchasing marketplace's policies and procedures.
07 Availability, providers and product changes
Reliable operation is an aim, not a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, network problems, technical faults, provider outages, software updates, security issues and changes to external services can interrupt features. Features may reasonably be changed, suspended, replaced or discontinued.
External technologies may provide maps and location data, artificial intelligence processing, infrastructure, analytics, subscriptions, crash reporting or advertising attribution. Their own terms and policies may also apply. Independently supplied services and content are not our responsibility.
Functionality, content, offers and technical requirements may evolve. Updates may improve performance, security or usability, and older app versions may cease to be supported.
08 Respect the service and other people
Do not use the app unlawfully, access systems or accounts without authorization, disrupt its operation or security, overload it with automated or excessive access, bypass usage or paid-access limits, supply harmful or deceptive material, infringe others' rights, or resell or commercially exploit access without permission.
Misuse, breaches of these terms, security risks, fraud or unlawful activity may result in limited, suspended or terminated access to the app or individual features. You may stop using the app at any time. Any active subscription must still be canceled through its applicable management process.
09 Warranties and reliance
To the extent law permits, the app and its content are supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Availability, error-free operation, complete or accurate location data, real-time updates, satisfactory generated content and correction of every defect are not guaranteed. You assume the risks of your use.
10 Liability and responsibility for claims
As far as applicable law allows, liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or comparable damages connected with app use is excluded. This includes losses involving reliance on location information, inaccurate or delayed updates, other members' misuse, lost data, interruptions, device or network problems, external services or unauthorized access beyond reasonable control.
When the law prevents an exclusion, liability is limited only to the extent the law permits. To the extent legally allowed, you are responsible for claims, losses or expenses resulting from your misuse, breach of these terms, submitted content, infringement of rights, unlawful conduct or location use without proper consent.
11 Revisions and the continuing agreement
These terms may be revised to reflect changes in the product, applicable law, paid offerings or operating practices. A revision will include an updated effective date. Where law permits, continued use after the revision becomes effective constitutes acceptance.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These terms, relevant privacy disclosures and subscription conditions presented in the app together form the agreement governing your use.
